The Advisory Board of EMU Intl Hub

The Advisory Board of the EMU International HUB plays a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction, academic integrity, and global partnerships of one of the most dynamic educational platforms in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

Established under the leadership of Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), and in collaboration with the Academy of eLearning – Britain, FAME College – UK, and IBES – UK, the Advisory Board ensures the EMU International HUB remains a centre of excellence, innovation, and inclusion.

Purpose and Strategic Role

The Advisory Board is entrusted with shaping the vision and governance of the HUB, ensuring that its academic, professional, and operational strategies align with UK/US accreditation standards, EMU’s institutional values, and the evolving needs of global learners. It serves as a think tank and oversight body, fostering collaboration between EMU and its international academic and industry partners.

Composition

  • Senior leadership from EMU, including the Rector and Executive Director of the HUB.
  • Representatives from UK partner institutions (eAcademy Britain, FAME College – UK, IBES – UK).
  • International academic advisors and professionals with expertise in business, engineering, education technology, entrepreneurship, and facilities management.
  • Regional representatives from student bodies, alumni, and industry stakeholders.

Core Functions

  • Academic Oversight: Advising on curriculum relevance, programme validation, and quality assurance.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Guiding the development and evaluation of collaborations with universities, accreditation bodies, and professional associations.
  • Professional Standards: Supporting the creation of certification frameworks, membership pathways, and chartered status development.
  • Ethics and Inclusion: Ensuring equitable access to educational and professional opportunities, especially for underrepresented and displaced populations.
  • Innovation & Impact: Encouraging the integration of digital learning, applied research, and entrepreneurial thinking across all HUB activities.

Support to EMU International HUB

Through its guidance, the Advisory Board supports the HUB’s mission to offer world-class, globally accredited education in HND, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate programmes, along with professional certifications and memberships. It is instrumental in positioning the HUB as a regional academic lighthouse, serving students from more than 110 nationalities at EMU and beyond.
